Susten Pass 2260 m. is a mountain pass in the Swiss Alps. The pass road, built from 1938–1945, connects Innertkirchen in the canton of Bern with Wassen in the canton of Uri. The pass is popular with tourists, especially for the views of the Stein Glacier on the south side. The Stein Glacier is a valley glacier south of Susten pass in the Urner Alps, at the eastern extremity of the Canton of Bern, Switzerland. It has a length of 4.3 km and covers an area of nearly 8 square kilometers. During start-up stage in the Little Ice Age to the mid-19th century the stone glacier was still about 1 km longer than today.
