Terpidana Kasus Lahan PTPN II, Samsul Tarigan Masuk Lapas

Binjai, MISTAR.ID The Binjai District Attorney's Office executed Samsul Tarigan, a convict in the illegal acquisition of land belonging to PTPN II, to the Class IA Medan Penitentiary. The execution was carried out after the Binjai District Court's guilty verdict was upheld by the Supreme Court through an appeal. The Head of Intelligence at the Binjai District Attorney's Office, Noprianto Sihombing, explained that the execution took place on Tuesday evening, August 12, 2025, after his office served a P-37 summons. Samsul's legal counsel negotiated, stating that they would file a judicial review. However, according to Article 268 of the Criminal Procedure Code, filing a judicial review does not halt the execution of the cassation decision. Samsul was given until 8:00 PM WIB. At around 7:00 PM, he arrived with his legal counsel and surrendered cooperatively. The convict will serve one year and four months in prison. The execution process was tightly secured by the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 66 of 2025, to prevent potential disruptions. The Head of the Binjai District Attorney's Office, Iwan Setiawan, ensured the process ran smoothly, with direct assistance from the Head of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office, Harli Siregar. After administrative and medical examinations, Samsul was taken to the Class IA Medan Penitentiary to serve his sentence. (Bayu/hm21).
