Anne Neville - The Broken Queen (The White Queen)

« I wish I could go back and never have been Queen. » As I write these lines, my dear friend, for whom I made this edit, is about to take a crucial exam, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she'll bring me good news before it goes live! I wanted to dedicate this video to one of the most ambiguous figures, in my opinion, of the British monarchy. I've regularly changed my mind about Anne Neville, one of the most overlooked queens in the history of the crown. Tossed between camps and alliances, too naive for her own good, the kingmaker's daughter forged a shell in the face of adversity, betrayed again and again by those she held most dear. A pathetic figure, regretting her own ambition, portrayed with great humanity by Faye Marsay. Her performance compels the viewer's empathy: one cannot help but see her journey end with infinite sadness, contemplating the ruin of a woman broken by the thirst for power of others.
