This video, Frankfurt AM Main Walking, begins and ends at Hauptbahnhof, Frankfurt’s main train station. The video features several streets in the heart of Frankfurt, and highlights iconic landmarks like the Westend Tower, the Trianon Tower on Mainzer Landstraße, and the Deutsche Bank green twin tower (approximately 509 feet high). The video also features the Opernplatz (Opera Square), Frankfurt’s central city square that is home to Alte Oper (Old Opera), originally built in 1880. The building was destroyed by bombs in 1944. In the 1970s, the iconic building was restored and serves as a concert hall today. Ironically though, the water fountain and the open space in the square appear to be the main draw for tourists. This video largely concentrates on Frankfurt’s Innenstadt (City Centre). This vicinity is full of life and buzzes with people and activities – buskers, shoppers, street markets, banks, shopping malls, pubs, café, etc. There are a few quiet areas too.
