Via dei Fori Imperiali is usually closed to cars on Sundays. Along the way, you'll pass the remains of the Roman Forum and the imperial forums, with ruins scattered on both sides. It's the kind of place you walk slowly, taking your time looking at everything, without any rush. At the end of the avenue, the Colosseum gradually comes into view—and even if you already know it from photos, seeing it in person is quite impressive.
