I Think I Finally Solved the Wood-to-Steel Connection Startup VLog2026WW23.5 (PA08)

Today I wrapped up another round of testing on the CuKi Rack development project. After exploring heat damage from welding and experimenting with epoxy repairs, I realized there may be a simpler solution. Instead of trying to make the weld disappear, the plan is now to place the weld in a recessed cavity on the inside of the rack and cover it with a matching wood plug cut from the same board stock. The result should preserve the appearance of the wood, hide the inward facing weld, still show off the outer weld and joinery plus simplify manufacturing. This is exactly why product development requires testing. Sometimes the answer isn't improving the original idea. Sometimes it's redesigning the process entirely.
