Nissan Leaf brake squeal when reversing! Parking brake & rear disc brake service fixes the problem

In this video I work on a 2015 Nissan Leaf where the brakes squeal when reversing. This turned out to be due to the parking brake shoes binding and not releasing properly, causing them to rub against the parking brake drum and make the squeaking noise. When it was particularly bad, the parking brake shoes were catching against the drum when reversing, to the extent that they were applying braking force to the rear wheels and stopping the car from reversing freely. This was not a problem with the main service brakes. The car would roll freely forwards and backwards in neutral with the parking brake off. The fix for this problem was to strip, clean, lubricate and adjust the parking brake shoes. I also did a rear brake caliper service at the same time, as the brake calipers have to be removed to get to the parking brake shoes.
