Raja Juli explained the chronology of the meeting with Suhardiman, including the matter of an envelope left behind after the audience at the Ministry of Forestry. Raja Juli made this clarification to reporters at the Ministry of Forestry Office in Jakarta on Friday (July 3, 2026). He emphasized that the meeting was an official agenda that had gone through procedures and was fully documented. According to Raja Juli, the audience began with an official request letter from the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government. The entire series of activities, from the attendance list to the minutes, were also well documented. "This was an open audience. The regent sent an official letter, published on my social media and the ministry's, and there was an attendance list and minutes," said Raja Juli. He ensured that all documents related to the meeting were ready to be submitted if needed in the legal process. In fact, Raja Juli stated that his office would be proactive if the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) needed these documents. "So, if the KPK ever needs them, or even if we do, we will also be proactive in submitting what I mentioned earlier," he added. Raja Juli then explained that after the audience concluded, Suhardiman left a folder containing an envelope. The envelope then ended up on his desk. However, he admitted that he only realized the envelope's presence after his guest left the room. At that moment, Raja Juli immediately asked his aide to return the envelope to the person who gave it to him. "When he left, I realized what I was doing, and I immediately asked my aide to return the envelope," he said. Raja Juli claimed to be unaware of the envelope's contents. However, he chose not to accept it because he felt he had no right to the gift. "I don't know what was in it, but I don't feel I have any right to the envelope, and I asked my aide to return it," he said. As a form of accountability to the public, Raja Juli stated that the return of the envelope was accompanied by a signed receipt document on a stamp. According to him, this document serves as proof that the envelope had been returned to the party who gave it. "As my moral responsibility, my public responsibility as a leader here, we have returned the envelope the regent left during the hearing," said Raja Juli. He added that this step was taken as a form of commitment to maintaining transparency and accountability within the Ministry of Forestry. Raja Juli also ensured that all documents related to the hearing and the envelope return process were properly documented and ready to be submitted to law enforcement officials if needed in the investigation.
