Living in the first person after narcissistic abuse

In today's video, let's look at how the scapegoat child overrides their instinct to flee a narcissistic parent. The child does this by caring more about what the parent thinks of them than what the child thinks of themselves. I will describe how this strategy helps the child survive. As adaptive as the strategy is, it later robs the scapegoat survivor of living their lives in the first person.
