Real Ghost Story: Did Something Follow Her Home From the Asylum?

Jennifer from Texas bought the house cheap. It had been vacant for years after the previous owners passed away — the couple who had lived there most of their lives left behind their furniture, their belongings, and apparently something else entirely. She felt the heaviness from day one. Others who came through told her they felt watched. She brushed it off. She's a skeptic. Then she and her fiancé snuck into an abandoned asylum in Mineral Wells, Texas — a place with a body chute, empty rooms with chairs still in the middle, and a darkness so heavy she bolted back outside within minutes. Her fiancé stayed and took photos. The photos showed faces. She brought something home. Back at the house, the long bony fingerprints started appearing high on the bathroom mirror — too high for her kids. Her daughter caught a clear old woman's face in the background of a Snapchat selfie. Sleep paralysis hit Jennifer every night. Then her 17-year-old son — who is afraid of nothing — called her terrified. He'd seen an old man's arm reach into the bathroom from the side of his vision. When he turned, it was gone. She blessed the house with holy water. It got worse. An evil voice laughed in her ear while she was paralyzed: "You think that rosary is going to help you? Nothing can help you." It took holy water blessed directly by a priest to finally lift the weight. But her daughter still won't talk about any of it. And Jennifer won't watch anything paranormal in the house. She's too afraid of opening the door again. Tony, Todd & Carol discuss — and wrestle with the question that makes this story genuinely unnerving: was the malevolent thing already in the house waiting, or did it come home with her from the asylum?
