Bikepacking Durham to York (Wild Camping + MTB)
Join me and Andrew on an unforgettable overnight bikepacking adventure from Stanley in County Durham to York in North Yorkshire. We travel on our mountain bikes via traffic-free trails, quiet country lanes, and over the North York Moors National Park, taking in the some the best of autumn bikepacking in England. 🍂 Autumn bikepacking is always a feast for the senses — golden leaves, crisp air, and that unmistakable sense of adventure. Along the way, we stop for coffee brewed on our camping stoves, enjoy some homemade biscuits at Wynyard Country Park(Thorpe Thewles), and soak up the stunning scenery through picturesque villages and wild landscapes. 🚴♂️ Route Highlights: Haswell to Hart Path Wynyard Country Park Hurworth Burn Reservoir Maltby Hutton Rudby Swainby (including the infamous Swainby Bank!) Cleveland Way North Yorkshire Moors National Park Beninbrough Park Newburgh Priory Easingwold York The climb out of Swainby Bank tested our legs and lungs, but with a bit of determination (and help from Rocky), we made it over the Cleveland Way and into the remote beauty of the North York Moors. 🌧️ The night brought torrential rain, but that’s all part of the adventure — and we survived the night wild camping a little damp but with big smiles. The following day we pass through some picturesque villages, see the Kilburn White Horse in the hills and then continue on quiet country roads to reach our destination in York. If you love bikepacking, mountain biking, wild camping, or just exploring the British countryside, this video is for you. 📌 Watch for: Real-world bikepacking route from County Durham to York Autumn colours across the North York Moors Wild camping setup and overnight experience Scenic mountain bike trails and coffee stops Honest reactions, laughs, and plenty of muddy moments! 🏕️ Gear & Setup (optional section to add if you list gear in the video): (Example placeholders — update with your actual kit if you’d like) Bike: Cube Reaction GTC Race Tarp: Alpkit Rig 3.5 Stove: Alpkit Kraku Bags: Topeak Backloader/Front Loader Bivvy bag: Alpkit Hunka Sleeping Bag: Vango Venom 400 Groundsheet: Gram Counter Gear Ultra Groundsheet Medium Music credits below: Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/tiny-houses/ocean License code: WCALUOAF2SCQM6CB https://uppbeat.io/t/simon-folwar/bra...
