From Quiet Woods to Mount's Bay: Lamorna Cove to Penzance
We continue our trek, leaving the peaceful, wooded haven of Lamorna Cove behind for a beautiful transition along the south coast of Cornwall. This eastward hike marks a massive turning point on our journey, where we officially leave the wild, exposed granite cliffs behind and step into the historic, sweeping embrace of Mount's Bay, finishing at the historic promenade of Penzance. There are many excellent, polished videos of the SWCP, but I wanted to show you something a bit different. This is the full, unvarnished experience, featuring the tangled woodland roots, muddy paths, and tidal boulder scrambles that often get left out. Because I’m filming as we go, the footage is raw and naturally shaky—I've kept it that way to capture the physical reality of the trek. Expect less commentary and a more "wild, bumpy ride"—an authentic record of the walk! . 🌍 Follow our full story & see the maps: https://roxieand.me.uk/ About This Journey: This stage is a masterclass in contrasts, shifting from quiet coastal nature to bustling maritime history. We begin by navigating the dense, muddy woodland paths and boulder-strewn coastal tracks out of Lamorna, pushing through the lush greenery around Carn Du. The trail tests our footing before delivering us into the postcard-perfect, historic harbor of Mousehole—a beautiful spot to pause and watch the tide. From there, the trail changes character entirely. The rugged paths give way to tarmac as we follow the coastal road through the bustling, working fishing port of Newlyn, with its famous fish market and deep maritime heritage. Finally, we join the iconic, wide seafront promenade, walking with the breathtaking silhouette of St Michael's Mount framing the horizon all the way into Penzance. . 🐾 About Roxie and Me: We’re documenting our journey along the 630-mile South West Coast Path, one stage at a time.
