I'm Alexey Berezhnoy, a sixty-year gardener, and in this video, I explain a folk method of fertilizing seedlings with iodine and ammonia, available at the pharmacy for pennies. I show the exact dosages step by step: one drop of 5% iodine per three liters of water for spraying, one tablespoon of 10% ammonia per ten liters of water at the roots, and ash milk as a background dressing three to five days beforehand. I explain how iodine activates the enzyme nitrate reductase and simultaneously suppresses late blight, while ammonia provides the plant with 82% of its nitrogen in ammonium form, without bacterial conversion. I'm debunking the myth about finger-sized growth in five days: we actually get 10-30% in height and weight, plus dark leaves and a strong stem.
