If you just want some sun and beaches, then this is not the ideal destination. But if you're a SCUBA diver it's an amazing place for both macro diving and to see an incredible biodiversity. And if you want to find a place to retire, this also seems to be a very popular destination. And then, if you're looking for girly bars - this is also a popular spot. Puerto Galera is a complicated destination in other words. It has a lot of typical tropical features, but there are also some problematic aspects to it. In this video I tell you a bit about the pros and the cons, and I also give you some hints about how to get to Puerto Galera from Manila. And of course, I also show you a bit of the macro diving around Sabang Beach, as well as the enormous schools of fish at Verde Island. There really is a reason that Puerto Galera is so popular among expats as well as more experienced SCUBA divers.
