DEPUTY MINISTER PLEDGES TO IMPROVE LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES - nbc
The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security has assured that the government will address challenges faced by law enforcement in the ||Kharas Region to improve service delivery. Edward Wambo made the remarks when he addressed the ministerial staff as part of his familiarisation visit to Keetmanshoop. He visited several service points and operational facilities across the region, where he engaged with staff and gained first-hand insight into operational challenges, including infrastructure, resources and staff capacity. Wambo shared his views. “I wish to ensure you that I have listened carefully. I have taken note of every concern, suggestion and recommendation. These issues will not remain confined to this visit. They will inform our engagements with the relevant authorities and principles within government as we work towards practical and sustainable solutions.” Wambo also commended officials for maintaining high service standards despite difficult working conditions. “The ||Kharas region occupies a unique and strategically important position within our country. It is the gateway to borders such as Noordoewer and Ariamsvlei and home to important economic activities, including mining, agriculture and tourism. The work performed by officials in the region carries national significance. The professionalism with which you execute your duties contributes not only to efficient service delivery but also national security, economic development, and Namibia's international reputation.” Wambo encouraged the officials to work together and improve efficiency and service delivery. “We cannot achieve our objectives if we operate in isolation. Strong communication, mutual respect, teamwork and collaboration across all departments, directorates and divisions remain essential in service delivery improvement.”
