BEST DAY TRIP FROM PUERTO VALLARTA | SAYULITA, NAYARIT

#Sayulita, Nayarit, one of the #PuebloMagico ‘s is an easy hour bus ride from Puerto Vallarta and though it was already on our list of things to do while in Puerto Vallarta, we were very excited to find out that we would be there around the time of their #DiadeLosMuertos celebration. So of course, we made it a priority to make it out for a night of festivities. For those of you unfamiliar with the tradition of Dia de Muertos, it's a traditional Mexican celebration where family members honor and celebrate the life of those that have passed. There are beautiful altars set out to remember their loved ones, offerings given, singing and dancing, and it is just a beautiful way to bring family together. We were lucky enough to experience some of the festivities while there. The colors, food, entertainment, and just overall spirit was intoxicating. We would recommend it to anyone and enjoyed it so much we would love to go back soon. Some useful info: How to get there: We took an hour and a half bus ride for 46MX pesos each from Puerto Vallarta to Sayulita. Not the most luxurious bus ride but quick and convenient. Things to do: If you don't make it in time for the Dia de Muertos celebration it's a beautiful town with plenty of things to do. The beaches alone are beautiful but there are a few tours available as well that we looked into and would probably do next time around.
