Educated at Government College Lahore, the University of the Punjab, and Bournemouth University in the United Kingdom, he studied Political Science, History, and Television Production. Over the decades, he has held senior positions at PTV, Samaa News, Waqt News, etc, while also writing a long-running weekly column for Jang, later collected in the prose volume Dairay Kay Musafir. Beyond journalism, Ghaznavi’s enduring passions have been literature, music, and the wider intellectual traditions of South Asia. A devoted student of the classical music of the subcontinent and a close companion of the celebrated poet Jon Elia, he has cultivated a poetic voice that unites classical inheritance with a distinctly modern sensibility.
