This trip was anything but ordinary. My loyal 12-year-old Shih Tzu had a surprise run-in with a cactus (don’t worry—he’s okay!), the desert temperatures soared 20° hotter than expected, and the wind howled through the canyon all night long. I also managed to get a splinter in my thumb while splitting firewood (the joys of camping, right?), and let’s not forget the very noisy neighbors on the first night! Despite the challenges, Indian Cove offered breathtaking desert views, unique boulder formations, and a real sense of wild adventure.
