The "Gujo Odori" dance festival, considered one of Japan's three major Bon dances and an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Asset of Japan, will be held on a reduced scale this year (2022) for the first time in three years. Although the two "Gujo Odori" events on July 16 and August 20 were both rained out, the festival was filled with enthusiasm as if to relieve the previous exasperation.
