Strawberry Milkshake Cupcakes Recipe | How to make Pink Ombre Frosting

These Strawberry Milkshake Cupcakes are absolutely divine and pack a serious strawberry punch. They are eggless, so they're perfect if you're a vegetarian. The cupcake is flavoured with strawberry flavoured custard powder. It is extremely moist, tender and fluffy. The strawberry milkshake buttercream frosting is made from strawberry milk, strawberry puree and very little amount of sugar. This is what I love about the ermine buttercream / boiled milk buttercream / cooked flour buttercream frosting - it gives you an incredible amount of control over the sweetness of the frosting. Besides, you can get so creative with it as well. I've used the ombre buttercream frosting technique by piping straight lines of buttercream over a sheet of cling wrap, wrapping it into a roll and using a Wilton 1M tip to pipe swirls of strawberry milkshake flavoured buttercream frosting over cooled cupcakes. Ingredients to make the Strawberry Milkshake Cupcakes: For the Cupcakes: 120 grams all purpose flour 25 grams strawberry custard powder 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 90 grams caster sugar 35 grams salted butter, softened at room temperature 120 grams milk, room temperature For the Strawberry Milkshake frosting: 200 grams strawberry flavoured milk 2 tablespoons (25 grams) sugar 100 grams strawberries, pureed 2 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon (21 grams) all purpose flour 130 grams salted butter, room temperature.
