Son of Beast - K'nex Roller Coaster

Here is my recreation of Son of Beast from Kings Island. It's a legendary rollercoaster of this Park, whether because of his style, records, or tragic endings. This recreation was a challenge for me. I used many new construction techniques, which will be useful to me in the future, and maybe, will give ideas to other knex builders in the community. First, I used a metal chain (bike type) for the lift. I was fed up with this knex chain which broke every time the train climbed the lift. For this, I modeled gears compatible with the Knex rods and bike chain. To motorize the lift, I used an old electric roller shutter motor, which I adapted for use with Knex rods. I feel like I can build whatever I want, and that I will never be bothered by the loss of car speed. It's so satisfying !
