Step-by-Step Belden REVConnect STP Termination Instruction Video — Allied Electronics & Automation

Covers all the steps you need for any STP termination; Cat 5e through 10GX Jack, and even the 10GX Field Mount Plug. Shop Allied: https://www.alliedelec.com/lp/belden/... To follow along, you'll need the following: cable (shown here: Belden 10GX62F double-jacketed shielded cable) REVConnect module (a shielded jack or shielded plug) Core (cable manager and a cap; comes with each module) REVConnect termination tool, which features a wire stripper and a cross web cutter (ONLY tool needed!) NOT REQUIRED: 110 punch down, RJ45 crimper, flush cutters, etc. Step 1: Use tool to remove 4" (10 cm) of jacket. Remove rip cord and binders. Cut shield, leaving approximately 1/4" (.65 cm). Cut away any secondary jacket or rip cord. Wrap drain wire. Step 2: Separate pairs into two groups (blue/brown and orange/green). Remove exposed cross web. Decide on 568A or 568B termination (T568A: green and brown pair go up; T568B: orange and brown pair go up). Tip - Use the guillotine tool to cut the cross web as close to the jacket as possible! Step 3 (T568B): Insert brown pair through brown slot and orange pair through orange slot. Slide cable manager down. Rotate cable manager until blue and green pairs are in respective slots. Step 4: Untwist pairs (DO NOT SEPARATE) until white conductor resides on outside. Bend down the management bar. Step 5: Snap on cap by aligning contacts across from wires. Slot core into REVConnect tool until latch realigns in center. Crimp handle once to terminate core. Step 6: Open doors, and align jack and core latches to snap on housing. To remove, open doors and bend latch away from cable. Open plug doors and align plug and core latches to snap on housing. Close rear plug doors. Tip - To open plug doors, squeeze on them with one hand and push the vertical pins towards each other! The solution for any RJ45 connection you need to make. Reliable. Easy. Versatile. REVConnect.
