Making Bricks, a New Floor, and Acorn Mush Cakes

My primitive hut is in need of improvement. As the weather cools it is imperative that I begin making bricks for walls and a new fireplace. The rocky floor needs to be leveled and covered with a suitable material. The most important thing is food and I have plenty of acorns, mesquite, prickly pears and other food stuffs that I gather nearby. The shelf hanging from the roof is a convenient place to store and protect these foods. The process of making bricks is slow in the winter months due to short days and cooler weather but I can store them inside the hut where they are protected from rain and can be heat dried near the fire.
