Yiddish Seder 2025

In-Person Yiddish Cultural Seder Returns to NYC This past Monday evening, after a pandemic hiatus of 6 years, the Yiddish Artists and Friends-Actors Club and the Congress for Jewish Culture joined forces to offer a pre-Pesach Yiddish Cultural Seder that hosted over 160 people at Manhattan’s Sutton Place Synagogue. YAFAC had partnered with the Cantors Assembly in 2022 to present this special seder virtually, with participation of club members and CA members across the country. This year’s live return was rich in musical talent, including Cantors Moshe Bear, Robert Ableson, Luis Cattan, Janet Leuchter, Alexandre Schinazi and Susanne Katchko, along with outstanding Yiddish singers Miryem-Khaye Seigel, Mikhl Yashinsky, and Dylan Seders Hoffman, accompanied by exceptional band members Alex Ruvinshteyn (keyboard), Jordan Hirsch (trumpet), Mike Cohen (clarinet) and Akiva Wharton (percussion). Club members, led by organization presidents Corey Breier and Shane Baker, provided dramatic readings of the poems and texts of the Haggodeh. Once again, the Cantors Assembly shares this this extraordinary, unique event with the Jewish music world and wishes all a Zissn, Koshere Peysach!
