Second legal opinion sought by Didiza emerges in Ramaphosa’s urgent application
A second legal opinion sought by National Assembly Speaker, Thoko Didiza, has emerged in President Cyril Ramaphosa’s urgent application to interdict Parliamentary impeachment proceedings against him. The advice, sought from ANC veteran Mathews Phosa, clarifies that Didiza’s decision to file a notice to abide by the president’s urgent bid is legally sound. Political parties criticised her decision, arguing that it was her duty to protect the work of the legislature.
