Isabelle Sparkle Competes in her first EVER Cross Country

Isabelle Sparkle has been a little quiet of late, but she is back this time running in her first ever Cross Country competitive competition. In this race Isabelle is going up against girls her own age but those who are supported by clubs in their own schools or running clubs. Isabelle doesnt have any support from her school and is not yet in a running club. However Isabelle has done nearly 30 Junior parkruns as well as nearly 50 full length parkruns. Cross country running is considerably different to what she is used to being something of a tarmac runner, she generally runs and nice flat paths so suddenly running on long wet grass, sludgey mud, hills and hollows can be a bit of a shock. It was clear from todays run that she struggled toward the end but she showed real grit and came 15th out of 88 kids
