They are also sold in oliebollen stalls all year round at fairs in the Netherlands. DUTCH OLIEBOLLEN. HOLLANDSE OLIEBOLLEN. DUTCH RAISIN DOUGHNUTS. Ingredients: 100 gr raisins ½ tsp salt ¼ tsp cinnamon powder 3 tsp brown sugar 1 egg 3 ½ gr instant dry yeast 250 ml Luke warm milk 280 gr all-purpose flour 1 cup powdered sugar PREPARATION: Soak the raisins in hot water for 5 minutes Drain and set aside Add yeast and sugar to the milk and mix. Sieve the flour in a bowl and add the salt and cinnamon powder. Add the milk/yeast mixture to the flour and mix. Add the egg and mix. Add the raisins and give it a last mix. Cover and let it rise in a warm place (microwave or in the oven with the light on) for 45-60 minutes. In a deep pan heat up enough oil for deep frying. Form a ball with 2 spoons and drop it slowly in the hot oil. Turn over every so often so that it gets golden brown all over. Remove and place on paper towel to drain excess oil. Arrange on a serving plate and sprinkle powdered sugar on top. ENJOY!
