Hey everyone who follows the "Extraordinary Voices" channel, how are you all doing? This week, Brazilian art deeply mourns the loss of one of its greatest and most celebrated geniuses. Orlando Drummond passed away at the age of 101, leaving behind a fantastic legacy and many memories. Beloved, respected, and remembered wherever he went, Orlando has a legion of admirers of his unforgettable talent and will always be remembered for his timeless works. On TV, he brought to life the character Seu Peru from "Escolinha do Professor Raimundo," and participated in many comedy programs, films, and series. In the dubbing field, Orlando Drummond is considered the greatest of all by many fans and colleagues, as he immortalized characters with his beautiful voice, such as Scooby-Doo, Popeye, Alf the Alien, Vingador, Gato-Guerreiro, Grim Reaper, among many other icons of TV culture. Orlando was one of the first voice actors in the history of Brazil and the Herbert Richers studios, and even participated in the first dubbing done in the country! Working in this profession for around 66 years (1952-2018), he always left his mark and put a Brazilian touch on the characters he dubbed. Orlando was the master of many voices we know today, being a top reference for many talented people in the dubbing market. For these reasons and many others, I didn't hesitate to produce this tribute to Orlando Drummond, as a way to celebrate these 101 very well-lived years and as a way to thank him for everything he did for Brazilian art. This video is just a spark of tribute compared to everything Mr. Orlando deserves, it's just a grateful way to say "thank you, thank you and thank you forever!"
