TRIBUTE TO JOSÉ SANTA CRUZ (1929-2024) 🖤 Last week, Brazil deeply mourned the loss of one of its greatest actors, comedians, announcers, radio broadcasters, and voice actors... The brilliant and accomplished artist José Santa Cruz passed away at the age of 95 while hospitalized with bronchopneumonia, leaving behind an immense and historic legacy filled with remarkable works of exceptional acting quality, acquired and demonstrated throughout his vast career spanning over 70 years in the arts. Born in the interior of Paraíba, the actor touched many people with his memorable character Jojoca, alongside his partner Lúcio Mauro, in various comedy programs. He was a legend of Brazilian television, theater, radio, and a highly recognized voice in Brazilian dubbing, considered one of the greatest voice actors Brazil has ever had in its cast. He entered the art of dubbing around 1973, at the classic Herbert Richers studios in Rio de Janeiro, and due to his vast repertoire and acting talent, he gained great prominence in the main studios of Rio, actively working for many years of his life in this noble art, collecting a series of iconic characters that will forever be kept in the memory of those who had the honor of appreciating his work. José Santa Cruz retired in 2021, due to some health problems, ending his extensive and brilliant career in the profession, leaving a huge legacy in the history of dubbing.
