Where Is Your Body Bracing? | Summer of Coherence Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of Alignment is an Inside Job: The Summer of Coherence — a 3-month experiment using the amplifying energies of the Summer Solstice season to practice alignment with head-heart coherence. Each day, I am observing what energies come up for me and tracking what begins to shift, soften, or expand in my inner and outer world. Today’s field note is about noticing where the body may be bracing around something unresolved, upcoming, or emotionally charged. Sometimes the body is not only responding to what is physically happening in the moment. Sometimes the body is responding to what we are anticipating, what we are holding, what feels unresolved, or what has not yet completed. The sensation and bracing is real. And the tension is real too. So tthe body may be asking us to listen more deeply. ================= Today’s coherence lesson is: The body may brace around what the mind has not fully processed yet. This does not mean we need to analyze every sensation or make the body’s message complicated. It simply means we bring presence, compassion, and curiosity to the body. We listen before overriding. We pause before pushing through. We ask what the body is holding. We ask what support would feel like. Place one hand on an area of your body that feels tight, tense, tender, tired, activated, or uncomfortable. Take a slow breath in. And exhale. Then gently ask: Where might my body be bracing around something unresolved, upcoming, or emotionally charged? Then ask: What are you holding here? And: What would support feel like right now? Let the answer be simple. Maybe your body wants rest. Maybe it wants water. Maybe it wants quiet. Maybe it wants you to stop pushing and simply listen. ================= Today’s Mini Experiment Notice one place in your body that is bracing. Not with judgment. Not with frustration. Not as something to fix. As wisdom. Ask: What might this be connected to? What does this part of me need? What is one loving action I can take today?
