Continue Arcades Derby - My Idea of Gaming Heaven. But Why Are Retro Arcades So Important?

Finally, I can play the original arcade games! Regulars to the channel will know that when it comes to arcade games I play emulated versions of them. Not because I want to, but because so few of them still exist. Video games have been a lifelong passion of mine, not just for entertainment but they've gotten me through some tough times, and also provided me with wonderful opportunities both in the UK and the US. And it's why the preservation of video games and their hardware is so important to me, and why the rise in popularity of retro arcades is so critical to to their survival for future generations to enjoy. My home town of Derby is responsible for one of gaming's greatest characters, Lara Croft. but we had missed out on having our own retro gaming arcade. Until now.
