The second part of the ROC Armed Forces' "Training Trilogy," the "Joint Defense Exercise," began today (July 13th) with a five-day, four-night drill. The exercise simulates a scenario where enemy forces leave the port and prepare to land, training troops to operate independently under "decentralized" command and control—meaning even with communication disruptions—and to coordinate with other branches of the military in air defense, naval control, and anti-landing missions, effectively executing a "kill chain." However, on the first day of the exercise, an accident occurred where a military truck collided with another military truck ahead. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and the detailed cause of the accident is under further investigation.
