Teaching your kids financial literacy? Make it fun. | Sirisha Kuchimanchi | TEDxCapeMay
Money can be a tough subject to discuss—especially with kids. But while it may be difficult to share our income, expenses, or investing strategies with our children, research shows that money habits are learned and ingrained during childhood. In her eye-opening and instructive talk, Dr. Sirisha Kuchimanchi shares the importance of destigmatizing the conversation around money so that kids can grow up with real perspectives and feel empowered in their financial futures. She also addresses the role that discussions about income, expenses, and debt, as well as the act of giving kids spending power at an early age play in teaching good financial habits and setting them up for success. Dr. Sirisha Kuchimanchi is a former Global Engineering & Manufacturing Executive at a Fortune 200 company. She co-chaired the Technology & Manufacturing Women’s ERG which supported over 500 employees across 3 continents and 8 countries. She is getting ready to launch “Sahita” a women-focused business enabling women to come together to build the Life of their dreams. Sirisha hosts the Podcast “Women, Career & Life” and the Radio Show “Life Beats with Sirisha”. Her podcast is listed in the top 30% of Spotify podcasts. Her mission is to provide practical ideas and resources for women to further their career & life goals as they strive toward financial independence. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
