Although reliable information about the early zamindars is not available, Jatindranath Singh Roy Bahadur, born in 1859, was one of the brightest figures of this family. He worked in the Bengali Civil Service for 30 years and later focused on literary pursuits. He lived in this zamindar house with his wife Sarojini Singh until his death. The location of their burial place is still unknown. Although Jatindranath Singh's only son Surendranath Singh started living in Kolkata, his son Satyajit Singh (Baidyanath Babu) returned to Bangladesh with his wife Rekha Rani Singh in 1952 and started living in the Bauschkhali zamindar house again. Satyajit Singh was a social worker. He played an important role in the development of the area by donating land for markets, education and health sectors. He died on 2 December 2013 and his wife on 21 October 2015. Both of them are buried next to the Durga temple adjacent to the Singhabari. Currently, no one from the Singhabans lives permanently in Bangladesh. However, Rekha Rani Singha donated their property in the name of Radha Govinda to preserve the land and structures left behind.
