This stitch should fall roughly halfway from the beginning marker. The marked stitch is worked as a knit stitch. It does not need to be exactly centered, as the stitch count will be adjusted later. [Increasing with 1 X 1 Ribbing] R1: K over K, P over P until 1st marker, M1R, (SM), K1, (SM), M1L, K over K, P over P until the end R2: K over K, P over P – No Increasing R3: K over K, P over P until 1st marker, M1R, (SM), K1, (SM), M1L, K over K, P over P until the end R4: K over K, P over P except 1 ST before & after Markers – these stitches are worked as purl – No Increasing Repeat R1–R4 until your desire length After finishing the neck rib, we move on to the body section. If you already have enough stitches after the increases, simply continue knitting the body in all knit stitches until you reach the front legs. If you still need more stitches, continue increasing as needed. In this case, instead of working in ribbing, switch to knit stitches while increasing. The pattern for this section is as follows: BR1: K until marker, M1R, (SM), K1, (SM), M1L BR2: ALL Knit Repeat BR1 & BR1 until your desired length While working the body, increase as needed. However, all increases must be completed before reaching the leg opening. Once you begin the body section, start working the cable pattern. Each cable requires 10 stitches, and in my sample, I placed two cables, as shown in the video. [Cable in Round] CR1: P1, K4, P2, K2, P1 CR2: P1, K2, T4F, K2, P1 CR3: P1, K2, P2, K4, P1 CR4: P1, K2, P2, C4F, P1 CR5: P1, K2, P2, K4, P1 CR6: P1, K2, T4B, K2, P1 CR7: P1, K4, P2, K2, P1 CR8: P1, C4B, P2, K2, P1 Repeat CR1 ~ CR8 until your desired length Once you reach the front leg position, make the openings for the front legs. From this point on, we will not increase any more stitches. [Leg Opening (2 rows buttonhole)] Add markers where you want to add a leash and leg openings. LR1: BIND OFF LR2: ADD NEW CASTS (Same # as BO) Front Section The front section will be shorter than the back section. This prevents the sweater from getting dirty when a dog or cat urinates. When finishing the front, leave enough length for the ribbing that will be added later. At this point, stop knitting the front section. Back Section Continue knitting only the back section. Decrease one stitch on each side on every right-side row. Since you are working only the back section, refer to the flat cable pattern. Cable Pattern (Flat) When working the Back PS flat, check which row the next cable begins. If the cable starts on that row, begin from the RS. If there is no cable on that row, begin from the WS. [Decrease BACK PS] (RS) K1, SSK, K until last 3 STS, K2TOG, K1 (WS) NO DECREASING [Cable in Flat] CR1(WS): K1, P2, K2, P4, K1 CR2(RS): P1, K2, T4F, K2, P1 CR3(WS): K1, P4, K2, P2, K1 CR4(RS): P1, K2, P2, C4F, P1 CR5(WS): K1, P4, K2, P2, K1 CR6(RS): P1, K2, T4B, K2, P1 CR7(WS): K1, P2, K2, P4, K1 CR8(RS): P1, C4B, P2, K2, P1 Rejoin When the back section reaches the desired length, rejoin the front and back sections and resume working in the round. When reconnecting the front and back sections, make sure to do so on a right-side row, as you will be working in the round again. Picking up stitches along the sides where there are no edge stitches. (Knit 3 STS up, Skip 1 ST space) After completing one round, change to needles one size smaller and begin the ribbing. [BODY RIB] 1 size smaller needle (5mm) (K1, P1) until your desired length [BIND OFF] 1 size bigger needle (6mm) One thing I forgot this time was to make a leash opening on the back. If you want to add one, just make it the same way as the leg openings.
