MALERWEG | Stage 6 | Land of Table Top Mountains

The fifth day (but 6th stage) of a 120km adventure along one of Germany's most scenic hiking trails. This is the first section of the Malerweg on the south bank of the river. Here, the rock ridges you’ve become used to are exchanged for table top rock formations. This video covers the sections from Altendorf to Neumannmühle (18.3 km). Day 5 started slow but soon became more interesting after stopping off at the handpainted church in Reinhardtsdorf, detouring to the Lichterhöle caves and the penultimate climb to panoramic view from Papstein Mountain. For those of you walking, the campsite was called Biwackplatz "Alte Gärtnerei" (Old Garden Centre) and can be found on the edge of Kurort Gohrisch village on the southern bank of the river.
