TO PREVENT A SECOND STROKE: • Control blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol. • Use prescribed medications correctly (anticoagulants, antiplatelet drugs, statins, antihypertensives). • NEVER discontinue medication on your own. • Keep up with your medical follow-up appointments. • In some cases, carotid artery evaluation is necessary — the vascular surgeon will advise on the best course of action.
