Trackmaster Donald unboxing review and first run.

Hey guys I bought a few engines in the last couple of weeks and as they arrive one by one I will unbox (if they are boxed) and review them and show you their first runs. Here we have Trackmaster Donald, he is of course one of the Scottish twins saved from scrap early in the show. He looks great and I can't really fault the look of the engine and the tender because i think black looks great on any engine. He has a battery compartment similar to many others where the boiler lifts off and a battery goes underneath, it has the smaller type of drive unit which is being fitted to all engines eventually (sadly). This particular drive unit is annoyingly noisy and i know that does not have to be the case because TOMY Oliver is beautifully quiet. So I think this has poorer tolerances in the building of the drive unit and I guess less quality parts, possibly built very quickly and less quality control (it runs so its ok), I have had some noisy TOMY units like this though I have never seen a quiet Trackmaster one. Enough complaining.. How does it run? very well and smoothly, quite fast and has no trouble pulling 6 red express coaches around any corner, it did derail a couple of times around the big station but since that is newly laid track and he was one of the first to run on it I will forgive that. So in conclusion... THE GOOD: *Looks great *Runs great *Goes fast *Pulls well THE BAD *The grindy noise from the drive unit *His twin is super hard to get for a reasonable price SCORE: 8/10 Thanks guys
