All Authority — It’s His

 Following Jesus resurrection, he meets with his disciples at a mountain in Galilee. He said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.” [ Matthew 28:18] Both the apostle John and the apostle Paul give the reason the Lord makes such a claim.  John tells us: “ all things were made through him, and without him nothing was made that was made.” [John 1:2] Paul says of Him: “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him, all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, weather, thrones, or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” [Colossians 1:15-17]  Recognize who Jesus is. It’s better to acknowledge him now then on the day he returns to the earth, for when he does “ every knee will bow… And every time we confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!” [Philippians 2:10-11]
