Spotting at Manchester Barton (06/04/25)

Title Music:- All rights Reserved - Muse: United States of Eurasia [+Collateral Damage] I decided to do something a bit different earlier on in April, and travel to the lesser known 'Manchester Airport' - Barton Aerodrome. From 1930 until 1938, Barton Aerodrome was the primary airfield for civilian flights in/out of Manchester until all commercial flights transferred to the new Ringway Airport site - the current Manchester International Airport. Fast forward to today, and Barton Aerodrome is a busy and thriving general aviation airfield that also hosts Manchester Heliport. On my relatively brief visit, I was able to catch a decent snapshot of the kind of traffic frequenting the airfield. Standouts included Grumman Cheetah G-BGVV (12:05 , 13:30 , 14:01), Bell 206B Jetranger II G-DATR flown by Dave Fishwick (Bank of Dave) (14:52), Cirrus SR20 G-VGAG (16:27, 21:58) & Yak-52 G-LYFA (18:02). I've lived relatively close to Barton for quite a portion of my life, but never got around to recording any footage there. After this visit, I'll certainly be looking to head there a bit more often. Enjoy!
