Nature reserve De Maatjes is the Flemish part of a nature reserve that lies partly in Belgium and partly in the Netherlands. De Maatjes is the name of the Flemish part, De Matjens is the name of the Dutch part. I had never been there before and felt it was time to go exploring. I was pleasantly surprised by the area. Although there was a strong wind during my visit, I still managed to spot plenty of birds. You can walk there for hours. An ideal area for nature lovers who also enjoy hiking.
