Vogels kijken bij Viane en de Klein Beijerenpolder 1730

Practical info about birdwatching in the Klein Beijerenpolder: https://www.visdief.nl/vogels-kijken-... A force four wind forecast was issued, but it didn't stop me from taking a stroll around the Oosterschelde. My first stop was at Viane, the salt marsh area near the Klein Beijerenpolder on Schouwen-Duiveland. It is low tide, and I am sitting in the shelter of a chunk of metal, a remnant of the shipbreaking yard that was once located here. Now, a hideous house stands on the bank. After countless times I have been here, I still cannot understand how the municipality could ever have granted a permit for such an ugly building. Of course, I do understand why people would want to live in this place. The view is fabulously beautiful! I enjoy the wading birds walking and flying in front of me. I enjoyed most of all the male marsh harrier flying towards me along the dike. I've never seen him like this before!
