Woodturning - My biggest hybrid project

I crafted an extraordinary, vibrant green urn from Australian mallee burl wood through woodturning. The burls were cut on the bandsaw, shaped around a form, then encased in deep pour epoxy resin before being turned on my woodturning lathe to achieve the desired shape. I used brass threaded inserts for the lid and applied several layers of clear gloss lacquer for a polished finish. The total project took about 9kg of resin.
