ПРАВОСЛАВИЕ В БОЛГАРИИ

Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev)'s signature program is dedicated to the contemporary life and history of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. The Christian enlightenment of the Slavic peoples began with the Baptism of the Bulgarian lands. A shared faith formed the foundation of fraternal relations between Bulgarians and Russians. Metropolitan Hilarion will speak about the first Bulgarian Orthodox scriptorium monasteries, the ruins of which were discovered in Varna, and about the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, built in Sofia as a token of Bulgarian gratitude to the Russian soldiers who liberated the country from Ottoman slavery. From Sofia, the journey continues into the mountains to the Rila Monastery, the site of the spiritual labors of Bulgaria's patron saint, St. John of Rila. Neofit Studio, 2015
