#Trains #Railroads (9/13-14/24) To those of us who love trains, there are certain icons of the railroad world that virtually everyone knows. While they may vary in size and design, none compares in physical grandeur to the Union Pacific Big Boy. Measuring over 130 feet and weighing millions of pounds, this locomotive boasts itself as the largest steam train on Earth. With only one operable example left in the world, one can imagine the fame the Big Boy holds and the crazy following it draws wherever it goes. Unfortunately, with this locomotive belonging to Union Pacific, there was basically no chance I would ever see it in the Southeast where I'm from. So I determined that if the train wouldn't come to me, I would go to the train, and the journey that ensued in pursuit of this massive prize was truly one of the greatest I've ever embarked on.
