Minutes before her death, she sent a casual email from the property then witnesses in a neighboring home reportedly heard two loud “thuds.” What followed was a chaotic scene, a 911 call at 2:09 p.m., and the discovery of Ashley on the floor of the model home, shot at close range. But what makes this case so controversial is what allegedly happened outside moments after the gunshots. A witness and her mother claim they looked outside and saw a woman pacing near a vehicle, talking on the phone, and then leaving the area at a high rate of speed before briefly returning. Prosecutors now allege that woman was Kristin Ramsey: a longtime employee of the same home-building company tied to the development where Ashley worked. For years, the case remained unsolved. But in 2026, Kristin Ramsey was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, despite maintaining her innocence.
