Dam Busters 75th Anniversary Dinner 21st May 2018
On Monday 21st May 2018, the Royal Air Force Club was privileged to welcome the last surviving British member of the Dam Busters. George 'Johnny' Johnson at a special Club Dinner to commemorate 75 years since Operation Chastise. Johnny, an Honorary Life member of the Club, regaled the assembled members and guests with his personal story of the raids of 16th, 17th May 1943, when 133 Allied aircrew took to the skies in 19 specially-adapted Lancaster bombers, carrying Barnes Wallis's ingenious bouncing bombs.
