THE SERIES LOST TO MONEY AND MEDDLING! The Defunct Feeder Series to Formula One

F3000, Formula 2, the other Formula Two... The list continues. Culminating in my personal favourite, Formula Renault 3.5. Did I tell you about the Race All Star Battle using those? I have? Oh okay then... But in all seriousness- Back in the day if budget was too tight there was often an alternative. You could go there, get some experience, and the series had enough 'legitimacy' about it that Formula One teams might take an active interest in you. Which is great news! But when the FIA mixed everything around, everything died off. Because now you needed super license points and those were biased heavily in the FIA series' favour. So everyone moved into the higher paying series, and the lesser series all died off due to lack of sign ups. But this then begs a question: Will this cause harm in the long run? Because supply and demand will drive the seat prices in F2 up as it becomes an auction, and those who miss out won't have an alternative to showcase their abilities. Answers on a postcard...
