[4K] 🇮🇹 Turin Trams | All the Lines

The tram system in Turin is the oldest in Italy having opened in 1871 and operates 8 lines over 91.5 km of track. It is operated by the city’s municipal transit agency, the GTT, which also operates the majority of bus services and the metro. This means that fares are completely integrated with all other transit modes in the city other than the SFM regional rail. There's a variety of rolling stock operating on the network with trams from the 1950s operating alongside trams from 2022. One can find even older trams on the touristic line 7 which only operates on weekends as a sort of heritage service. Alongside line 7, there are also the Sassi-Superga and Cene in Movimento that serve as tourist attractions. The Sassi-Superga rack railway takes you up from the northeast of the city to Superga which offers a beautiful view over the whole city. The Cene in Movimento are old trams that were turned into restaurants that offer dinner services while circulating around the downtown core. Overall I find this system to be one of the most interesting tram networks I’ve ever visited and I truly recommend using it whether that be to get around or for the attractions.
