Welcome to our next video! This is our third day in Istria, and this time we are taking you to places that completely charmed us with their history, mystery, and technology. We are setting off from Peroj, where we stayed and where our wedding will take place in just a few days! Our first stop is the historic town of Poreč. We’ll show you where to park without any hassle, walk through the ancient streets, and visit the stunning 6th-century Euphrasian Basilica complex, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. You can look forward to climbing the bell tower for a spectacular view, the mystery of the stolen relics of Saint Maurus and the empty sarcophagus, and finally, the breathtaking Byzantine golden mosaics that have been shining unchanged for over fifteen hundred years. Then, we move a few kilometers north to the village of Nova Vas, where we’ll finally cool off from the summer heat. We will visit the Baredine Cave, which hides a unique blind amphibian at a depth of sixty meters – the olm, also known as the human fish. Right next to the cave, we’ll explore the Traktor Story open-air museum with an amazing collection of historic tractors, including old Zetors, and see what life was like here in the past. You will also learn about the unique terra rossa red soil that makes Istrian olives so famous. And at the very end, we have a fantastic gastro tip for you! We discovered a great restaurant, Imbiss Baderna, where we paid just ninety-five euros for a huge and delicious lunch for five people, including coffee.
